A Recital

Our cello (Abigail), viola (Lincoln) and violin (me) recital was today! I was so nervous, more for everyone else then for me, but everybody did a fantastic job and I was so proud of them : ) The recital started at 4:00pm and we were there a little early ! (Just in case they decided to start without us)

Then it started.

Lincoln was the first of us kids (there were others there as well) and he played Bohemian Folk Song, on his viola. He was very scared!!! However he did a great job and there was lots of clapping at the end of his song.A couple kids after Lincoln was Abigail and she was amazing. She did March in G on her cello. Awesome job lil’ sis ! And then it was me. I played La Cinquante on my violin, I was very nervous (for myself now) but I did okay, making it through the song with minimal mistakes! *cheers*

Again, thanks a ton!

Have a wonderful, sunny week everyone :)

An Eggcellent Surprise!

Something is wrong with our chickens! (OH, NO)

When my little helper Bethany was collecting the eggs this evening, she was *shocked* to find different colored eggs!

“Zoë, look at this green egg!”
“Oh, yes *giggling up my sleeve*” “I wonder what their problem is?”
“ I think I know what’s wrong”
“what?”
“they need to go to the fixit person to get fixed”

*egg drops and cracks*

“look Zoë … CANDY!!!”

------Who do you think put them there?  (hint: it was not me!)

How neat!
Does this look right?
Oops it cracked!

Visitors From NY

This weekend we got to see some friends that we had not seen since last year! It was so nice that they decided to come down.
On Saturday we met them at Golden Corral (a nearby restaurant) and got to catch up everything that had happened over the last year. After that they came over to our house for some more fellowship and a rousing game of Catch Phrase. The kids got to play together and see our animals, which was a real treat for them! On Sunday they got to come back for a couple minutes to collect chicken eggs and see the animals once more. Then they started on the drive back home :) Thanks for coming New York friends!

Here are some pictures. Sorry, I don't have pictures of everyone ~

Another Photo Contest!

But this time it's me entering in a totally different contest! Though the contest subject is the same (animals) and my picture is featuring the same doggie model as Abigail's.
Geneva is a perfect model! Pose, looks, personality...she has it all :)

What I like about this contest, is that you are able to edit the picture as much as you want! I just put black around the sides though. If you would like to you can enter here: http://sadiesphotographyblog.blogspot.com/2012/04/photo-challenge-animals.html

Other Things (and a journal entry)

Do you ever have those moments…when you set down at your computer to write a post and find out that you cannot think of a single recent happening or thoughtful subject to expound upon?     I’ve had those moments, all too frequently (I might add). In fact to go into further detail I had a moment quite like that, in the space of about two minutes ago.
When all of a sudden inspiration fell on me, or rather it struck me. I was so shocked that I had to go and eat a cookie. (it was good) (I could do with another one) Anyway, back to the main subject. (Wait, we had a subject?)
Oh, I could write about not being able to think of anything to write. Which is, if you would think about it long enough, pretty easy for someone who talks so much.
But to my relief I thought of something even better, aren’t you grateful?  I am going to do a journal entry! I know you guys are so interested in my life, that you want to hear a word by word detailed account of my day! A show of hands if you please? Um, well never mind…
March 13/2012
Dear Journal,
I woke up this morning and got up, (I know what a way to start the day)! I was rather tired, it being like 6:10 am ….  So I went to bed again. Okay, so maybe I wasn’t so all-fired to start on my school work. At about 7 something, I got up again and stayed up. I made my bed and went into the kitchen and ate some leftover coffee cake (which I had made yesterday). I also had a glass of milk.
All energized (not) I cleaned my room and organized my closet (reading a few books along the way).  When I had just finished (at about 10:30 am) the doorbell rang and Elizabeth and Matthew had arrived. I greeted the newcomers and started on the arduous task of finishing 3 pages of math. YUCK. absolutely.
After that was done, I did my other duties, as one in the 11th grade must do, I will spare you the details!  I went into the kitchen for lunch and was assaulted by the delicious smell of freshly baked granola….Well, after I had finished my sandwich, carrots, dip and oranges. I helped clean up and went to practice my violin. After playing Sitez 2 over, over and over, I played the La Cinquantaine and that was the end of my violin time. When I was done with that, I started on piano and stumbled through my practice time. Then glanced at my piano theory words (commend me, I am being honest).
Then said I good-bye to Elizabeth and Matthew and put the scales and measuring tape by the door. I went up to the barn and was pleasantly surprised when I was greeted  by Blossom (she stood there and let me pet  her!!!). I then attached the leash to her collar and pulled her down the hill, leaving Stonewall and Jake to bewail her loss…at least that’s what it sounded like.  I measured her and was, going to weigh her, when I found out the scales weren’t working. Lovely. (Now what was I going to do when I wanted to see what the effect of eating so many cookies would have on me?)
At about that time, Bethany let go of the leash and Blossom bounded (literally) up the hill and away. Take note, I said away. My sweet little goat, was running away from me, okay…maybe not from me, just from a screaming, 3 foot, blond haired ‘chillen. (I probably would have run to, if I had been in her shoes… er, hoofs) Anyways, I stuck the would be un-goat catcher (Bethany) in the house and ran off, (not hollering) to catch up to Blossom. It took me about 15 minutes to figure out I couldn't match her in speed, so I sat down, about 4 feet away from the culprit, who was chewing on grass.  It wasn't till my cat started coming our way…and Blossom ran over to me (to be safe?) … that I caught her. To make a long narrative short. The End.
After spending a few more minutes getting Blossom situated in the pen, I came back down to the house. Abigail had been baking some (delish) cookies and of course she needed a taste tester! So I sampled one, it was warm and all melted, fresh from the oven! *sigh* (I want a cookie (I had better continue writing ))…I then sat down at the computer: we are now in present tense.
PAUSE.
Okay, I’m back again! After we ate supper this evening, we decided to go on a walk down the road with our goats. Our new goats.  Then we went up to the barn to get them, I caught Blossom easily, Papa snapped the lead-rope on Snickerdoodle (Bethany wanted to walk a goat)... Abigail had a little more difficulty, but caught Stonewall a few minutes later. Lincoln on the other hand had no such luck! We tried to help him, but it still took him about 20 minutes before he was able to catch Jake.
That was only the beginning. As we walked down the road, Blossom following nicely (like a dream!), Stonewall skidding (what happens when your goat stops moving his back legs, but both your legs keep moving) and every couple minutes Jake, (with or without Lincoln) would come barreling, galloping, roaring by. Then stop, abruptly and repeat. Thus our walk proceeded, with Mom stopping us to take pictures every few moments.
When we got home, I took care of the animals and then came inside. The kids listened to a story tape, while I read. Then it was devotions time! Papa read from the Psalms, and then we prepared for bed and (you can guess) we went to bed. Thus ended a regular type day in the Sanger household.

Bonjour!

As most of you more observant folks have kindly noticed, I've changed a few things around on my blog recently. (Do you like it?) (Tell me, so I don't get the itch to change it again!)
I also haven't posted for a appalling amount of time. It is one week ago today, I think!
I even have a post  actually  waiting to be posted, but becuase I was having to much fun, to take many pictures on my own ...I am waiting for some!  A post really is coming, so don't give up hope folks!

Farewell~ (Till I post again)
