Animal Update!

Hello folks!Well I'm back to post on the additions to our farmerret.
I guess I shall start off with the animals that take up a majority of our time...goats.

Our market projects are getting along well. We get out the goats and train them about 2-3 times a week *we should be doing this more*We go to 4-H meetings and showmanship classes now and then to renew our zest for this project! Here is a picture:
 --------------------------------------------------------------
This big guy is Billy Boy *I know, didn’t recognize him did you*. Yeah, he has grown a lot over the past few weeks...But he still has legs like toothpicks! I call him BB  because he is so shy he bolts away from us like a shot from a BB gun, and because of his name :) We need to work with BB to get him used to us humans; we will be selling him when he is old enough.

                                                         *PIX*

And this little doll is Mocha, she is Abigail’s new goat. Mocha’s mom (Cocoa) is not a good mom, she won’t let Mocha drink at all! So us girls have to put Cocoa up on the milking stand so Mocha can have her meals. Mocha has gotten very attached to us gals, she follows us around like a little puppy *I had such a hard time getting this picture*!  Isn’t she a cutie?!!?!
-----------------------------------------------------

A chick and 1 turkey did not survive chickhood. But the others are just fine!
Our chicks and the turkey...Well suffice it to say that its just like having a jungle bird soundtrack playing full blast and all the time :) I have made around 4 paper fans recently, we have to keep the house at 80 something degrees, and it gets rather hot around here. But they sure are cute! Whenever I feel very hot I just go over and look at those little popcorn-balls with legs.
*Awe*

Well thats all for now, talk to y'all later~

Peep - Tweet- Qua- PEEP!

Those are the sounds of the newly arrived add-ons to our farmerret...Yep, we got chicks and turkeys!!We decided that our other hens were getting to old and we needed to start a new flock and we also just wanted some turkeys for eating.

So Mom ordered them from Umbergers and they arrived today!!! (I hear them peeping in the corner)...
We (Mom & I) went over and picked them up this afternoon.

Hannah scooped out the chicks and stuck them in a box..

Some chicks in a box~

Then we went on to the check out with a bag of chick grower feed..

(@  the checkout)
Excited to get home! (I bent down to look into one of the "peep holes" and almost got my eye pecked out) (YIKES!)
Getting ready to move the chicks into their new home~

We are SO excited :)

We have 14 Hens (2 be)... 2 Cockrels, and 2 Turkeys!
The "hens" will be ready to lay in Oct :)

Farewell~

A New Addition to Our Trip!!!

Last week Lincolns goat had a buckling~We named him Billy Boy, he has the longest legs!
He's so CUTE! Marshmallow is so proud of her baby, he is always bouncing after her on his wobbly little legs.

He looks like he is smiling!

(my favorite picture!)

A proud Mommy~

Cocoa is going to have her baby sometime this week or next!!!

Keepers~ My Weekend

The night started off with a fire…a controlled fire, the atmosphere was one of anticipation…

After a great meal, put together by the Keepers Mothers we all headed over to the campfire to roast marshmallows (regular & strawberry (just had to add that little tidbit!)) and wait to be given our awards.   My Aunt Jody handed out the awards, she also asked us to say what our “favorite” Keepers meeting was.

Elisabeth was first in line, then came Joy, me and so on :)

My "favorite" meeting was the Hair-styling by: Sis Rebekah Brandt! We got our hair fixed, read a passage from the Bible and a quote, learned hair tips and got a little hair goodie bag at the end~

All of us!

                                                    *************************************

Then Joanna taught us girls Macramé, which is really fun! You use a really long string then a short one and tie a special knot. We did beads in ours! Here are some pictures of the finished product:

                                         ******************************************************
We got ready to "bed-down" after we finished with the Macramé, we got to sleep outside in a big tent. It was pretty warm, considering the fact that it had rained :) We chatted the night away.
We got up at 6:30, 'nd started breakfast. Pancakes, eggs and Bro: Jeff (who also had slept outside) did the sausage.                                                                                                                     Minus a couple pancakes that got fliped the wrong way...I speak for myself (hey, I was being nice to the doggie) everything went well.
Oh, did I forget to mention that we were cooking outside?

(Lincoln and Joshua slept under the stars (way to go guys!))...
                                                        ***********************************
After a wonderful breakfast we were all ready to go, on a 7 mile bike ride.

The ride had a good many hills but we did well *cheers*
                                                             *********************************
Till was time to have lunch: YUMMY!
                                                           ********************************
Then we just "hanged out" till 2 o'clock, I had a really great time....Thanks to everyone who made this day possible!

Sewing Fun~

Guess who's got the sewing bug!??!?! ME...I just finished up a nightgown and 4 tier-skirt.

The nightgown took me two years to make...started it last year and cut it out, but then I never got around to sewing it :0 This nightgown will be showed in the fair, wish me luck!

It took me two days to do this skirt, I really liked how it turned out :)

Long and flowing :)

Going round and round....

I have five more skirts to make for the camps I'm going to!

Have a great week~
