The Little Girl...

-just a little note about the first few days of fair-

Fair week has been a ton of fun !
We entered a couple of things and came home with quite a few blue ribbons.

Fair started last Saturday, but we have been preparing for fair forever.
I took a nightgown that I had sewed and a basket I made. As many of you know Tyler didn’t make weight so that was one less entry on my part (I am naming my goat Samson or Goliath next year (maybe)). I did ok with my other entries but I hope to do better next year; I got 2^nd place for my nightgown and 1^st place for my basket.

Mom did well in with her entries, more pacifically with her Java Chocolate Cake that she entered in the Hershey Baking Contest…BEST OF SHOW!!! *way to go mom*

Abigail’s goat made weight and got 1^st place in her class, it then went on to win Lightweight Champion. Lincolns got Reserve Lightweight.

There were 4 goats in each class and the 1^st of those went on to the next class. There were 8 goats competing to be the Champion and Reserve. They got best out of 32 kids.
There were 3 main categories and then those categories were broken into 3 more categories. Then they picked a champion and reserve out of each main category and then a Grand champion out of all the goats. (I know it’s really confusing!)

We have been working a lot at the fair this year. Once in the cafeteria (cutting celery all the day long!), 1 time in the French fry stand and another time in the Drink stand.

This years fair has been a lot of fun for me, I have learned a lot and cannot wait till next year :)

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to LINCOLN !!! He is 10 years old today :) -Double Digits!!!!-

AAA….the life of luxury…uh,folks he really doesn't do this every day.

He's a VERY smart little boy, and no...I did not punch him in the nose, ~~Bethany did.~~

He is a good worker and likes hanging out with the "big guys" :) His favorite sports are: Hockey, Baseball and Basketball... He lives with three sisters... (no comment)... Oh, and he really likes 4wheelers :)

A Visit From Friends~

This weekend we had some friends come up to our house from Louisiana. It was a much looked forward to visit, because we had not seen them since 2005!

The Steinke’s arrived around 4:00 and stayed till 9:40 something~

We welcomed them with open arms (literally) and then we went and showed them our animals (while the parents went inside). After that it was a game of P-I-G for the guys, while us gals chatted away.

Supper was 30min later and it was mexican :) Beans, rice, enchiladas and taquitos.

Our parents ate outside while we ate inside (so as to be closer to the food). Bethany kept us entertained, with facts of fiction and storys of wild andventure!

When we were all finished, Oliva, Emmalynn, Maria, Abigail, Bethany and I went on a walk up to the golf course. The boys went on a bike ride to meet us, but we were back to the house before they caught up to us.

We played some games of volleyball, (for example) all of us kids against Joushua...and...he won...

(no further comment)

Then there were some more games of P-I-G and then a game of Dutch Blitz.

We took pictures and said our good byes :( then they....left... It was so sad.

An Opossum Came to Sunday School….and….Then it Bit my Finger….

No, I’m not writing this post to say that I now am in the hospital *nothing quite like that*…But wouldn’t that be a rather interesting post? (Come on now!)

I am writing this to say that I am now a “professional opossum trainer”.
Ok, for all those who read the previous sentence and believe it…don't...its not true. BUT wouldn’t that be interesting?

------Alright, enough of that!

This *previous* Sunday we had a funny little visitor come into our classroom: his name was Pouch : ) and (as some of you may have already figured out) he is a opossum.

*Pouch was picked up beside a chicken coop when he was a tiny baby and is now being raised by them*

Every morning for breakfast he has a omelet (sounds good) and he has other various “people food” for the rest of the day. His favorite food is egg : ) He has a hairless tail, hairless paws and beady *marble* eyes.

By the way, I learned a neat fact yesterday…if a opossum is overweight the whites around his eyes will show! That isn’t hard to believe if you have ever “looked into” an opossum's eyes. They stick out : ) to be honest with you, they look really strange!!

Oh and they named Pouch, pouch because of the pouch a mother opossum carries her little ones in.~

The kiddies did a color page, listened to a story cd about the mother opossum that Bro. Branham talks about, and played with the opossum. I think that they liked picking it up by the tail best! The tail curls around your hand... because opossums use their tail to balance : )

I AM ALIVE! * MY 70th POST!!!!*

I know that y’all probably figured something happened to me….so I thought I would do a post to let you folks that I still am around : ) So here is what I have been up to:

I was at Still Waters Youth Camp for 5 (awesome) days and then I was at Believers Youth Camp for 3 (short) days. I had a wonderful time at both camps and met a lot of new friends.

My “adventure” started off on the 19^th of June, when Abigail and I hopped into Grandpa and Grandma's car with our cousin Kaitlyn---ok MAYBE it wasn’t that simple….

We drove for 10 llllooooonnngg hours till we finally reached our destination (Jeffersonville, Indiana). The Klopps took in us road-waifs and our entire trunk of luggage. We spent the night there, then in the morning we were on the road again and we drove out to SWYC, while our (fantastic) Grandparents drove on to AR for a wedding.

It was wonderful, but I won’t go into detail--because there would be totally to much to write about…. Suffice it to say that I cannot wait till next year; God Bless Bro. Joseph and all the workers @ SWYC : )

Next stop was BYC where (as I said before) we stayed for 3 very short days.

Papa preached in the “big” tabernacle 2 times and in the “older” tabernacle once, the services in the big tabernacle were great, but I was not there for the “older peoples service”….so, no comment there : )

Everything at camp was basically just like I remember it from last year and the year before that. I had a little more fun this year then past years though, I think. I was so sad to leave!!!! Here's hoping that I can go again next year : )

Mom and Bethany stayed home throughout all this--- and greeted us happily this morning when we woke up.

A Evening of Fun~

Friday night we went over to Uncle Philips and Aunt Jody’s house for some delicious food and wonderful fellowship~ I know this post is a little late... but hey, life is busy :)

We arrived at 4 o’clock and were greeted by many happy faces! Then we started in on the food which was already out and waiting...

Yummy!

When we were full, us girls went and rode our bikes down to a fruit-stand close by to look for second strawberries…then the ladies walked a mile down and bought some, which were then put in the bike cart and taken home.

We walked around and talked awhile and then we played a game of kickball, what fun~ After that we talked some more and had dessert : )Then up to Kaitlyn’s room to read some books and listen to music!

Then it was time to go….we cried we-we-we all the way home…I had a awesome time, thank you Uncle Philip and Aunt Jody!
