Roller-skating + Pain

Will I ever be able to move again? That is the question folks… :P

 I just got back from a birthday party for my sweet cousins: Lillia, Hope and Elaniah (Their B-days are all in the same month) It was at a roller rink and was a bunch of fun (I had never been to one before)!!!

Unfortunately my roller-blades had been deemed unfit for use.                                                      
 So I, for the first time in my life wore roller-skates! I rented a size 7, *sigh* I guess I should have gotten an 8…But hey, who really wants to give up almost Cinderella sized feet?

I “glided” out into the rink and “wamo” ….my very first fall of the night!! *ouch*    (I was ssssooo thankful that we had been a little early)!...... So in the next couple minutes I practiced how many ways I could fall “gracefully” …lol.  After a while I finally got down the “movements” and except for a lot couple falls, I was fine for the rest of the night!

It was also Bethany’s first time on roller-skates  and Mom roller-skated before but was a little rusty. We all did really well! ~*round of applause, please*

 I am up at 7:22, I cannot find a comfortable position to sleep in! I have many bruises! Lol                                                                                                                                                                                        

 My left hand is all swollen up (last night papa thought I had broken it), but I think I just bruised it when I skated over it (don't ask me how I did that!) (typing with one hand). My one knee has no skin on it. I am trying not to think about my feet!!                                                   

 Abigail said I am “delicate” but I'm just totally clumsy on roller-skates :P

~I am adding to my earlier post, because I forgot to tell y’all about the fun games we had last night!
We had relay races and played four corners. We also played a game were 2 or 3 people held hands and when the whistle blew we would have to turn and go the other way.   Joanna was my partner and was great at turning us around. It got really wild when the whistle would blow in rapid session!! The games were spread throughout the night.

Aunt Jody had all kinds of delicious refreshments and coolers of drinks :) Mmmm! They were much needed to keep up the calorie/energy level!!!

Beautiful Blooms~

Last Keepers meeting we learned how to make some beautiful flowers for your hair~
It's so much fun (and so easy!), that thought I would do a post on it :)




For this fun craft you will need:

*a flower shaped cookie cutter (any size is great!)
*some fabric
*scissors
*a button
*glue gun
*sharpie
* pin or alligator-clip for the back

Step 1:

Trace the flower onto the fabric using a sharpie

Step 2:

Trace on five flowers, then cut them apart

Step 3:

Cut out flowers

Step 4:  Pick the flattest flower shape to be your base, put the rest of your flower shapes into a nice little pile. Take a shape from the pile to make your first petal!

 

 Step 5:

                   F old flower shape in half, put a line of glue down the middle and squeeze

Do all the petals!

Step 6:

Glue petals onto base

Step 7:

                                     Pick out button to go in the middle, then glue on!

 Add a pin or alligator-clip to the back~ TADA!

I used a circle shape for this one, instead of a flower!

There are so many diffrent things you can do to make your flower unique!

Here are some ideas:

Zigzag the edges, using diffrent colors of fabric for each petal, use a ginger bread man cookie for the petal shape, putting a smaller flower in the middle of a bigger flower....The possibilities are endless! Make a flower today :)

HaPpY bIRtHdaY GRanDma Sanger!!

Today was my Grandmas _7 Birthday. So we had all of her loving boys over for a fiesta (and their wonderful families)!! WOOOhOO!

The menu consisted of:
*Chicken  Fettuccine Alfredo
*French Bread w/butter & garlic
*Salad & toppings

Well needless to say it was yummy! The dessert was awesome too :)
After the main course we had a very interesting conversation ... (I won't go into any details)

Here were some of the topics (not all of them though):

*What beets can do (and not do) for you.
*Some random childhood memories, like: bringing home pigs in burlap sacks... and (my Great) Uncle David bringing sour milk to their house in a pickup...
* What cannibals consider a delicacy... 
*Cow brains, Pig Stomach, Cow tongue...
~ You get the idea :)

-Then we gave Grandma her present: a KINDLE, a device that she can read books on.
We then sang Happy Birthday, Never Grow Old, and May God Bless you....

We had a wonderful time :) Happy Birthday Grandma!! I love you :)

Rain~

For a couple of days my mind has been preoccupied with doing a post...on something...(yeah, I know that’s just a tiny problem)...

Then one day I went outside and it hit me full force in the face! (Nothing like a little water to wake you up!) :)  I could do a post on rain/water!!!

(Are you excited yet?) (~Be prepared for many random facts)!

v  A raindrop is not shaped like a teardrop~ It is perfectly round!

v  Once, there was a man who lived 66 days with ONLY water!

v  You know that one faucet, leaking at one drop a minute, can waste 38 gallons of water a year!

v  Raindrops fall at the average rate of 9 miles per hour

v  Most People use over 16,000 gallons of water in their lifetimes, or 2.5 quarts per day.

v  The umbrella was originally invented to protect people from the hot sun.

v  Rain starts off as ice or snow crystals at cloud level.

v  Louisiana is the wettest state in the U.S

     We will never have any more water in our world (Don’t panic!)!!~ All the water we now have is all we will ever have... but that is okay! The water that is in our lakes, rivers, oceans, seas, and even our swimming pools, will "evaporate" (That means it will rise up into the sky).

(We can't see it do this). When it goes into the sky, it makes the clouds!  Then the clouds move! Finally, after so much "evaporation" they will be so full of water they need to let some of it go. So, to let the water go, they rain!

The water in the clouds comes down on us. It hits the ground and soaks into the dirt. Some runs back into the rivers, lakes, oceans, seas, and even our swimming pools.

 It is the water that comes from out of the pipes in our house. We use it, and then it goes down the drain.  From the drain, it goes into our septic tank deep in our yard, or into the sewer. From the septic tank, it soaks back into the ground. If it is in the sewer, it will come out somewhere, like the ocean or a sewage pond.

Then it will evaporate, and it will fill up the clouds. When the clouds are full, it will rain again.

So, you see, we use the same water over and over again! The water is being "recycled"  (Go Green)!

We have been getting a  lot of rain lately~ the water totally flooded our back-yard!

God's Creation :The Human Hear *oops* Ear~

-The Human ear is so amazing! God made sound waves and the ear so that they would work perfectly together. Each part of your ear's have a special job! When all the different parts work together, the ear is healthy. If even a single part of your ear is damaged or missing, you won't be able to hear normal or at all!
-Your ears are in charge of collecting the different sound waves, processing them, and sending sound signals to your brain. And that's not all - your ears also help you keep your balance. So if you bend over to pick up something, you won't fall down!
Your ear is made up of three different sections: the outer ear, the middle ear, and the inner ear. These parts all work together so you can hear!

-The outer ear is called the pinna or auricle (or-ih-kul). This is the part of the ear that people can see.  The main job of the outer ear is to collect the sounds.
The outer ear also includes the ear canal, where wax is produced. Earwax is the stuff that protects the canal. Earwax contains chemicals that fight off infections that could hurt the skin inside your ear canal! It also collects dirt to help keep that ear canal clean. So earwax isn't just gross, it's gross and useful!

-After sound waves enter the outer ear, they travel through the ear canal and make their way to the middle ear. The middle ear's main job is to take those sound waves and turn them into vibrations that are delivered to the inner ear. To do this, it needs the eardrum, which is a thin piece of skin stretched tight like a drum.

The eardrum separates the outer ear from the middle ear and the ossicles (say: ah-sih-kulz). What are ossicles? They are the three tiniest, most delicate bones in your body.

•the malleus (say: mah-lee-us), which is attached to the eardrum and means "hammer" in Latin



•the incus (say: in-kus), which is attached to the malleus and means "anvil" in Latin


•the stapes (say: stay-peez), the smallest bone in the body, which is attached to the incus and means "stirrup" in Latin


When sound waves reach the eardrum, they cause the eardrum to vibrate. When the eardrum vibrates, it moves the tiny ossicles — from the hammer to the anvil and then to the stirrup. These bones help sound move along on its journey into the inner ear.
Sound comes into the inner ear as vibrations and enters the cochlea (ko-klee-uh), a small, curled tube in the inner ear.The cochlea is filled with liquid, which is set into motion, like a wave, when the ossicles vibrate.

The cochlea is also lined with tiny cells covered in tiny hairs that are so small you would need a microscope to see them. They may be small, but they're awfully important! When sound reaches the cochlea, the vibrations (sound) cause the hairs on the cells to move, creating nerve signals that your brain understands as sound. The brain puts it together and hooray, You can hear!

~The Chameleon

For those of you who are not familiar with the chameleon, I will introduce you…

The chameleon is a reptile. Half of the world's chameleon population lives on the island of Madagascar. They are famous for their ability to change color, as a response to temperature, light, and mood, as well as a defense against their predators. Their eyes can rotate and swivel independently, enabling them to see almost a complete 360-degrees! Their tongues can be as long as their bodies. Chameleons balance on a branch by gripping it with their claws and wrapping their tail around the branch to hold on. Chameleons can even sleep upside down! They are omnivore. Its diet is one of insects, snails, spiders, other lizards, birds, flowers, berries, and fruit. They live for about 5-9 yrs. There are 80 different species~

New Species of Chameleon Found
The Homo sapiens a new species of chameleon , discovered by Dr. Zoe S.M. A.R. T.T. of New York City. As strange as it may seem she found the new type of chameleon in the streets of NYC. She says (I quote) “they were swarming all over” (unquote).                                               
It seems that this type of chameleon is found all over the US! She says this new species is “not unlike other chameleons”. She also says this: “They can walk upright”. The Doctor says they do their color changing whenever they “are around different individuals of their species”.          



~Did you know that you are a Homo sapiens? Yes, Homo sapiens is Latin for human. I think that what Dr. Zoe said is sometimes true…. What is your opinion? Think about it!

Writers Block:

Warning: If you are not in the mood to be bored don’t continue!

Lately I have been feeling this clogged sensation in my brain… It happens whenever I sit down at the computer to do a post (or, yes even write an email!).

Yesterday I found out a proper dictionary term for my present predicament: Writers Block.

So what exactly do I do whenever I sit down? (Here is a sneak preview folks!):

UUMMM…Ahhh…… ohm.. Uhhh..*chewing my nails* …Mmmm…ARGG!...*sigh*…Ummm… *Bethany*: “Are you done yet Zoe?” “I want to get on” (and WHAT exactly is a 3 yr. old going to do on the computer???!!) … Me: “No I am not done, what do you need to do?”….Bethany: “Get on my email”… *raised eyebrows*… Me: “Well, I might be done in a couple of hours”…. Mmm…

Sound familiar anyone? (Uhhh…what should I say now?), (oh yes!) …. Have any of you people ever heard the saying, “you haven’t really rode a horse until you have fallen off “? Mmmm, well, anybody? Well folks (are you ready for this?) my theory is that it is the same with writing *gasp*
Ok, I will admit it, there are some people out there that are creative and never have EVER had one of those moments *sigh*. I sometimes look at all those neat blogs out there and I wonder…Don’t they ever have a single moment of writers block… Whew, what a life :)

So FOLKS, what did you think of my post? Do YOU feel this clogged feeling in the brain, when you’re trying to do a comment? Well I will tell you why that is…It might be because of reading a whole post about it…AND…It could also have something to do with the fact that I always like to share everything that I have with my friends.
