A Surprise Birthday [for Grandpa]

 Have you ever had those times when you don’t know how to start a post? [Note: then you know exactly how I feel!]
This is David S_____.
I’m failing miserably when I try and put words into sentences about what he means to me, his family, the church and anyone he comes in contact with. Considerate, thoughtful, caring, strong and wise are the first words that come to mind. But he is so much more then that! He is my pastor, friend, advisor and Grandpa.
This past week he turned 70.

---------
Everyone stood around, talking and laughing and talking.

just hanging out.

it's called brotherly love.  haha
Uncle Ron & Aunt Carol
Ben and Bethany

Then, we saw their white CRV coming down the farm lane in a cloud of dust. All around me the talking and noise stopped.  Through the car windsheild we could see a look of puzzlement spread across my Grandpa's face. He looked at all of us standing there and turned to my Grandma.  - As he stepped out of his car we began to sing Happy Birthday To YOU.

"Thank you, thank you", he said to everyone there. "I'm so undeserving."  [But we didn't think so]
Everyone crowded into the garage and the festivities began!
 Prayer was said and then the food-line started.

Grandpa and Grandma : )

A table setting.
Quotes and old pictures were at every table. {Reminders of the reason we were there[Grandpa]}
Everything looked totally AWESOME.
The evening was full of fun and passed by far to quickly.  Pretty soon it was time to go home! But before everyone left, some pictures needed to be taken!

Grandpa and his siblings:
-Uncle Butch, Grandpa, Uncle Eddie, Aunt Carol & Aunt Jeannette-
Grandpa & his boys;
Jonathan Philip & Steve

and...*ahum* another show of brotherly love.

Best Friends Forever. [and yes I did enjoy that cone]
Love you girls!

I wish I could have been there. One of the greatest blessings of my life was having Uncle Dave for my pastor. Chris
